Vasanthy obtained her license in acupuncture at the School of Traditional Acupuncture in March 1988 and went on to qualify in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese Herbal Medicine at the School of Chinese Herbal Medicine, London. The School of Herbal Medicine was run by Mazin Al-Khafaji (ofwww.avicenna.co.uk, a renowned practitoner and teacher on the treatment of skin diseases (by chinses herbal medicine), and Michael McIntyre, a well-known and respected herbalist and campaigner who has played a key role in securing state registration for herbalists which will come in to effect in 2012. Vasanthy  has also had clinical training at the teaching hospital of the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nanjing, China.(1996). Vasanthy has completed a post-graduate diploma course in Gynaecology and Obstetrics in Chinese Medicine with Dr. Trevor Wing, and has become an assoicate practitioner of the Women’s Natural Health Practice, (www.naturalgynae.com), and is recognised as a specialist in Gynaecology and Obstetrics by the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine. This area of expertise includes the treatment of many gynaecological problems, including infertility , IVF support, menopausal hot flushes, post-natal depression, irregul painful, heavy or noperiods, vaginal discharge and polycystic ovary syndrome. Vasanthy is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC), a member of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (MRCHM), she is fully insured, and is bound by the Code of Ethics of both societies. She has done further training in Dermatology, Treating Asthma, Immune related disorders, and Women’s problems including Menopause and Infertility. She integrates the Shen-Hammer Advanced Pulse diagnosis system into her practise which is invaluable in the treatment of complex and chronic problems. It is an essential tool in using Chinese medicine to prevent the development of serious diseases and preserving health as far as possible. She also incorporates into her practice the channel palpation diagnostic method developed by Dr Wang Ju-Yi of Beijing,( an acupuncturist with 52 years’ experience,) after  training with  his prominent colleague  and co-author Jason D. Robertson.  In her many years in practice as an acupuncturist, she has helped a wide number of of people with a wide range of problems, from back pain to infertility, from eczema to bed wetting!
